Really, you're a wretch?
Little ones to him belong. They are weak, but he is strong.
Really, you're weak?
Were anyone to approach a friend being saying that they believe themselves to be worthless, anyone with a heart would immiediately tell them otherwise. This is called being a decent human being. Now, we're that friend to say "Yes, you are worthless without me." the person would more than likely know that this was not a true friend. Simple enough...
But when religion gets tied in, suddenly the simple isn't so simple. In fact it is encouraged to demoralize yourself. Or, if need be, let the congregation do it for you. You are worthless. You are nothing. You fall short. Dust in the wind, etc. Confess to us. Throw yourself at the mercy of the church. Drink our Kool-Aid. (Maybe that's a bit extreme...)
But is this all we are meant to be?
This is not healthy. I don't know how else to put it. This. Is. Wrong. I remember in Elementary School, there was a poster that said "You can be anything you want to be!" I think that this is fairly true. If you work hard enough the world is your oyster. You are strong.
Pride has it's place. It's in your heart. Not in the hands of men.
tl;dr
